Today and tomorrow we have several amazing stories to share with you through this blog. Right now, we need to hit the pause button to share some very challenging information and request prayer. As so many of you know, life within orphan care does bring forth great God testimonies of transformation, but it also brings extreme physical, emotional, spiritual challenges. And there’s no coincidence in the relationship between the two. We’re in a time of challenge that we trust the Lord will work for good. Romans 8:28.
What appears to be a cholera outbreak in Jeremie, Haiti, is impacting the children’s village we support there. I do know that all children who’ve fallen sick have received and will continue to receive immediate medical care. However, I am also sad to report that two of the precious little ones could not endure the strain and have gone to be with the Lord. This is a dynamic situation that’s being closely monitored. We’ll update you as we responsibly can.
For now, please pray for the protection and healing of the Jeremie children; for the wisdom, strength and guidance of the Jeremie El Shaddai and local church leaders, the medical staff at the site clinic and local hospital, and for those assisting to protect the children; and for Long Hollow Baptist Church flock, the village sponsors in Jeremie, who have rallied so wonderfully to the Jeremie children.
Thank you.
Joe
